School Board Meeting
EUSD - Thursday at 7pm
EUSD is holding a regular meeting of the board this week. This week’s meeting with begin with Student Excellence Awards, honoring students from Rincon Middle School, Rock Springs Elementary, and Rose Elementary.
At the May 9th board meeting, the district gave an update on their Community Schools Grant application. The California Community Schools Partnership Program provides a 5 year grant to qualified schools to provide resources for student achievement.
Community Schools provide an integrated focus on academics, health and social services, youth and community development, and community engagement.
EUSD applied for this grant for all 24 schools and 16 of those schools qualified.
At this week’s board meeting, the district will provide an update on their budget following the state’s May revision to the state budget. The district will also discuss new positions related to the implementation of the district’s Community Schools goals.
The board will also be voting to approve Audrey Frank as the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources for EUSD, a role she has served as an interim Assistant Superintendent since October 2023.

Community Events
EHS Spring Dance Concert
Escondido High School’s Spring Dance Concert will take place at the California Center or the Arts (CCAE) this Monday. Tickets are available from CCAE online or at the ticket office, $10 for adults and $5 for students and children.

Open to all families and community members, this program provides free dry goods and bulk produce while supplies last. Bring your own bags. See this flyer for details.

EHS Cougar Market
Escondido High School’s weekly Farmers Market is open to the public. Some items you are likely to find at the market this week are eggs, grapefruit, lemons, herbs and plants. Cougar Market is located at the farm behind the varsity baseball field.

EHS Spring Music Concert
Escondido High School’s Spring Music Concert will take place at the California Center or the Arts this Thursday. The EHS Music Department will spotlight their musicians, including Guitar Ensembles and Soloists, Jazz Combo, Mariachi, and Concert Band.
Tickets are available from CCAE online or at the ticket office, $15 for adults, $10 for students, military and ages 60+. Children 12 and under are free.
