Did you know that in addition to news and events, I provide resources that may be of interest to anyone with kids in Escondido?
Calendar of Events
At the top of District Voices’ Substack homepage, there are several menu links. The Calendar link will take you to a page with a list of board meetings for all 3 school districts for the current year, along with the addresses for where they are held.
But there is also a link on that page near the top to a Google calendar of events that includes not only those board meetings, but community food distributions at our school sites, community events of interest to families with school age kids in Escondido, and school fundraisers. Although the calendar is not inclusive of all events, I try to keep it updated with events that I learn about. I do that by following Escondido school-related Instagram and FB accounts, but you can also email me directly (liz@ourdistrictvoices.com) with your event info if you would like to have it included on the District Voices calendar.
At the bottom left of the calendar, there is a link you can click on to add the calendar to your Google calendar so that all of the events will be visible from your own calendar.
Learn
The Learn link on the menu will take you to a page with posts intended as informational resources to anyone interested in education in Escondido. Currently, this page only has one post, but I will be adding more.
The Acronyms page should have every acronym you’ll come across at a school board meeting, but I am sure I have missed a few and new ones seem to be added weekly in the educational community. If you are wondering about a bit of alphabet soup you encountered in a meeting, be sure to check the Acronyms page and let me know if I need to add one.
